BITSAT 2018 is barely a month away and students just cannot keep calm. In the final leap to the examination, all the aspirants would be undergoing an exhaustive routine of practicing mock tests and revising important topics.
Here are a few tips to help the students manage this brief period effectively:
- Understand the real exam environment:
BITSAT, being a Computer Based Test is very different from the traditional pen and paper mode. Students are therefore required to practice mock tests and previous year papers in the online mode to make themselves exam ready.
A lot of online coaching websites would also help you plan your preparation better in the last month before the final exam. You can also analyze your performance in the earlier mock tests. Implement the suggested schedule to perform better in the examination.
- Concept-based Question Practice:
Students should additionally practice short concept based questions instead of lengthy ones. BITSAT questions are purely concept based and brief, unlike the JEE.
- Bonus Questions:
BITSAT is one unique exam that provides its students an opportunity to attempt bonus questions apart from the total 150 questions. The additional 12 questions can be attempted on a condition that he/she cannot revert to the already attempted 150 questions.
The candidates should, therefore, ensure that the 150 questions are attempted and checked once before proceeding to attempt the bonus questions.
- Divide time adequately:
Time should be apportioned across sections as per the aptitude of the candidate. The section in which the candidate is strong should be attempted on priority, saving the remaining time for sections that consume a lot of time.
As much as revision is necessary, it is important to relax from time to time in between your schedule to keep up your energy levels and mental strength. Too much of revision can exhaust you physically and mentally, therefore maintain a balanced schedule and focus only on the required things.
- Keep up the speed
While practicing the mock tests and taking the exam in an online mode, maintain your speed and do not pause on any question unnecessarily. Doing that wastes your time and creates panic, which affects your performance. Always mark questions that look tricky or ambiguous, and get back to them once you have attempted all that you know.
Last but not the least, believe in yourself. Confidence and self-belief are equally important as your preparation. On the exam eve, spend the day relaxed and engage yourself in light revision. Ensure that you have packed the necessary things required on the D-day in advance to avoid last minute tension.
All the Best!
